Over 60 people were hurt in all, with six people dying as a result of the sad event’s injuries.

Darrell Brooks Jr. was arrested near the end of the march and near his red SUV shortly after the incident. During a jury trial in October 2022, Brooks was found guilty of 76 offences related to his acts on that day.

The sentencing phase of the Brooks trial is set to take place on Tuesday, November 15 and Wednesday, November 16. Tuesday’s hearing begins at 9 a.m.

Darrell Brooks, the man found guilty in the Waukesha Christmas parade catastrophe that killed six people and injured scores, will be sentenced on Tuesday.

Judge Jennifer Dorow, along with Brooks, will return to a Waukesha courthouse for the sentencing, which is planned for both Tuesday and Wednesday. The proceedings begin at 8:30 a.m.

We have collected reporter through gmtoday.com at the courthouse who is bringing live updates.

10:13 a.m.: The hearing has been adjourned for 30 minutes. When DA Sue Opper appeared to notice something, the bailiff dashed to the front of the courtroom and whispered to Judge Jennifer Dorow. This occurred while Jen Dunn of victims assistance gave a statement on behalf of the “Victim KKK.”

9:59 a.m.: DA Sue Opper has requested a brief respite.

9:53 a.m.: Following a brief break, the first victim is “Victim LLL,” the first minor to provide a victim statement. The victim’s brother “Victim KKK” was also hit and taken to the hospital.

9:35 a.m.: Sheri Sparks, Jackson and Tucker Sparks’ mother, is making her statement now, with Tucker by her side. Sheri claims that a shop owner hauled a door out of their store to serve as a backboard because all of the other backboards were in use. Sheri described having to tell Tucker about Jackson’s death the day after the parade.

The seventh victim statement has begun at 9:29 a.m.

45 people will deliver Darrell Brooks impact statements verbally.

According to court filings, 45 people will make a spoken victim impact statement to the court (including nine youngsters under the age of 18). Minors can only be videotaped from the neck up.

The court will permit buttons and/or T-shirts if they are related to a specific victim or group to which the victim belonged.

Brooks has asked nine people to appear on his behalf. Defense attorney and former Waukesha County District Attorney Paul Bucher stated that all defendants have the right to have character witnesses plead on their behalf or submit letters, regardless of the severity of their offences.

“They attempt to offer the judge a greater understanding of this person.” Judge Dorow knows very little about Brooks other than what she saw in court and heard throughout the trial, which is unfortunate for him. “This is his chance to exhibit a different side of himself,” Bucher remarked.
